Reappraisal of Benefits - Assessments

Since property values change over time, the Ohio Revised Code allows for a readjustment of benefits to ensure the cost to operate and maintain the flood reduction system is fair and equitably distributed. The Margaret Creek Conservancy District's (hereinafter MCCD) Board of Directors and Board of Appraisers are currently in the process of a "reappraisal of benefits" for the benefitted property parcels within the MCCD watershed. Only those parcels within the MCCD watershed will be subject to this assessment. Changes in property owners assessment could take effect as early as 2014.

If you wish to check your current assessment and your anticipated assessment for 2014, visit our MCCD Assessment section. There are several documents in this section that explain the need for the assessment change and the MCCD plan to stabilize the District. For property owners who do not understand or would like to file an informal exception about their assessment, they may contact the MCCD staff for assessment review. There is a deadline of March 1, 2013 for property owners to file an informal exception before the Assessment Record is filed with the Court.
